{"id":1662,"date":"2019-11-05T08:06:32","date_gmt":"2019-11-05T08:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vtk.iparimarketing.hu\/?p=1662"},"modified":"2019-10-28T10:24:24","modified_gmt":"2019-10-28T10:24:24","slug":"2019-11-05-az-ugandai-koztarsasag-vizgazdalkodasi-rendszereinek-kialakitasa-projekt-technologia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vtkinnosystem.com\/en\/2019-11-05-az-ugandai-koztarsasag-vizgazdalkodasi-rendszereinek-kialakitasa-projekt-technologia\/","title":{"rendered":"2019.11.05 \u2013 THE DEVELOPMENT OF WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA PROJECT \u2013 TECHNOLOGY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vtkinnosystem.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/switch26.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1603\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-parallax alignfull is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow\" style=\"background-image:url(https:\/\/vtkinnosystem.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/IMGP8415_1920v.jpg)\"><p class=\"wp-block-cover-text\">THE DEVELOPMENT OF WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA PROJECT<br><br><strong>TECHNOLOGY<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nwater treatment unit<strong> <\/strong>of the investment project consists\nof the following sub-units:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Raw water connection and pre-treatment<\/li><li>Pre-filtration and ultrafiltration<\/li><li>Chemical dosing system<\/li><li>Backwash and CIP unit<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size has-very-dark-gray-color has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color\"><strong>Raw water connection and pre-treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nraw water coming from the boreholes \u2013 depending on the actual solar conditions\nand raw water pump performance \u2013 can be directed: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Directly to the filtration technology<\/li><li>Via booster pump to the filtration\ntechnology<\/li><li>Into the internal tank (200l) <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In\nthe internal tank coagulation can be made to increase effectiveness of\nfiltration technology. The same tank is used temporarily for intense chemical\nflushing.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beside\nthe dual pressurized water inlet from boreholes, there are connections for\nwater supply network, or delivery truck. In this case the built-in booster pump\ncan be used to drive the filtration system, post-processing and disinfecting\nthe supply coming from other sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According\nto our previous lab tests, the raw water doesn\u2019t contain hard treatable impurities,\nbut the pH value is a little low \u2013 in some cases below 6. It must be raised\nback to around pH 7 with the use of chemical. For this reason, for example\nNa2CO3 solution is supposed to be dosed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nsecond process pump \u2013 beside the backwash and CIP operations can be used as a\nbooster for remote external tanks. The speed of the pumps is controlled with\nvariable frequency drive according the needed, adjusted flowrate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size has-very-dark-gray-color has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color\"><strong>Pre-filtration and ultrafiltration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nis no need for special chemical treatment besides adjustment of pH value. The\nheart of the technology to provide safe drinking water is membrane technology,\nusing ultrafiltration. Prior ultrafiltration a safety filter, like a disc\nfilter is advised to be installed to keep the eventually occurring solid\nparticles from water and prevent any damage of the ultrafilter. The disc filter\nhas to be cleaned in a hydraulic way (backwashed), for this purpose it is\nequipped with 3-way ball valves with L-shape bores. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nsuggested type of ultrafilter has a pore size of 10nm. This is very tiny, also\namong the different ultrafilter types. The most important purpose of the\nultrafiltration is that it provides safety against protozoa and bacteria\ncontamination. It can be interpreted like the first barrier of disinfection.\nUltrafiltration has many more advantages, like it is moderately resistant to\nchlorine and other oxidants which makes possible to use higher concentration\nsystem disinfection. The ultrafilter column is equipped with the necessary\nshut-off valves, that enable the different operating statuses such as\nfiltration, backwash, chemical enhanced backwash, cleaning-in-place. Previously the low pH value has been mentioned, that\nshall be increased by dosing of sodium carbonate solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second chemical that has to be dosed\nto the water is the disinfectant sodium hypochlorite solution. For this dosage\ntwo separated pumps shall be installed. It is necessary to have the possibility\nto add chlorine to the backwash tank, so the chemical enhanced backwash can be\ncarried out both in the disc filter and in the ultrafilter. The second pump\ndispenses the chemical to the water stream and makes the process disinfection\nthroughout the whole system. An optional third pump can be used as a final\nadjustment to the chlorine level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pumps dose according to proportional\nvalue of water flow rate. The specific dosage can be adjusted on the automatic\nsystem (PLC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-medium-font-size has-very-dark-gray-color has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color\"><strong>Backwash and CIP unit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ultrafilter has to be maintained\nsometimes \u2013 if the transmembrane pressure reaches a determined value &#8211; with\nchemical cleaning, so called cleaning in place (CIP). During this operation the\ncaustic chemical must be added to the backwash water tank manually, or using\none of the multi-function dosing pumps, and the solution has to be circulated\nwith the process pump.
