2020.03.31 \u2013 THE DEVELOPMENT OF WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA PROJECT \u2013 HANDOVER<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The implementation of the project was carried out in two locations \u2013 Hungary and Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Activities in Hungary<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Detailed mechanical and electrical design of the unique water purification units and treatment racks<\/li>
  • Purchase of the main parts<\/li>
  • Production of the unique water purification units: prototype and then mass production<\/li>
  • Software development<\/li>
  • Shipping of the water purification units to Uganda<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • Construction on the three selected locations: construction of water purification buildings and water towers <\/li>
      • Installation of water purification units, electrical and water pipe connection<\/li>
      • Installation of water treatment units, test run<\/li>
      • Training and handover<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Shipping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The water treatment units and their additional elements and equipment arrived at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda on 9 March. After customs procedures and shipments inside Uganda, the packages were transferred to the UNHCR warehouse and were distributed to the appropriate locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          In parallel with the transport of water purification equipment, the following works were carried out in Uganda:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • Internal sewerage and drainage of the WTP buildings<\/li>
          • Completion of borehole drillings, laying water pipes from drilled wells to WTP<\/li>
          • Positioning and connecting (electrical and water piping) water purification units in buildings.<\/li>
          • Completion of water towers.<\/li>
          • Acquisition and placement of clean water reservoir tanks on water towers<\/li>
          • Installation of solar panels.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            After that commissioning, test phase and the test run\nof the water purification units could be started. In parallel the training took\nplace with the test run, with the aim of a comprehensive demonstration of the operation\nof the equipment and the entire system, a description of the on-site mobile laboratory\nkit and the presentation of the monitoring water quality measurements to be\ncarried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The official\nhandover took place on 31st<\/sup>\nof March 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
